Our family of five set off for a perfect autumn day in Litchfield, Connecticut, surround by vibrant fall colors. Our adventure began at Topsmead State Park, where we strolled through fields painted in golden yellows and fiery reds, admiring the tranquil ponds reflecting the brilliant foliage. The charming cottage felt even cozier against the backdrop of autumn leaves. After soaking in the stunning scenery, we made our way to the quaint used bookstore at the Congregational Church on Main Street, where the kids eagerly searched for their own literary treasures among the children's section. For lunch, we enjoyed a meal at The Marketplace Tavern, an old jail turned restaurant, where the warm atmosphere, outdoor eating, and delicious food. We then wandered along Main Street, taking in the crisp air and stopping to shop unique finds while indulging in delightful pastries from Espresso 59, along with their rich coffee. To top it off our day, we treated us (especially the kiddos) to Arethusa Farm's famous ice cream in warm waffle cones, the perfect ending to our autumn adventure.
